Two people tune into each other across the noise of the world. When the signal fades, what remains?
This is the story of a relationship traced through the hush between words - a connection built not on certainty, but on echoes, pauses, and the quiet rhythm of shared moments. Told through the subtle shifts of presence and absence, of intimacy and distance, it explores what it means to truly listen.
A meditation on connection, loss, and the traces we learn to hear when someone is gone.
Toffee Hammer collaborated with animator and illustrator Holly Warburton to bring this story to life. Her painterly, expressive style mirrors the texture of memory itself: blurred at the edges, more feeling than form, intimate and impressionistic.
The project’s words needed more than a conventional short film - something that could hold the quiet resonance of loss and the enduring act of listening.
Jack Ledger-Dowse’s atmospheric score, coupled with Thomas Dalton’s sensitive sound design deepens the film’s emotional landscape. Together, the collaboration creates a piece where voice, image, and sound all tune into the same frequency: one of love, loss, and quiet resilience.
