For 25 years, I've kept articles of interest in a file. The first one was the story about Prince, a tiger at the Belgrade Zoo, and what happened to the animals there during the NATO bombing of the city. Then there was Flaco, the male Eurasian owl who escaped his long-time enclosure at the Central Park Zoo. There were stories about Happy the elephant at the Bronx Zoo and her sad saga. When the orcas started sinking boats, it was time to revisit the folder.
THE ZOO is a mixed media film – a social commentary – from the perspective of the most majestic and powerful animals on our planet. A lion. If he could talk, what would he say to us?
