Description

Charlotte and Zachary share a correspondance through time and space by means of a magical desk. Charlotte is from the Victorian-era and Zachary is a modern-day bro. When Charlotte's mother, the imposing Edith, forces Charlotte to marry her catty friend, Cecil, Charlotte decides to jump through the magical desk into the modern time to be with Zachary. To Charlotte's horror, Cecil has followed her through the magical portal. Things soon become complicated, however, as Zachary realizes that Charlotte may not be an ideal match and Cecil has taken a liking not to Charlotte, but to Zachary's boss- a neurtic named Martin. While the film is profoundly silly, it is actually meant to explores heavier themes such as gay rights, internet dating and, most fundamentally, the dangers of romanticzing the past.
