Freshly unemployed millennial jazz singer Sammy is overlooked by his ex-boss, his barista, and even his crummy therapist. He just wants to be seen and accepted as a real artist. After a bleak therapy session, Sammy soothes himself with a $9 americano at his local hipster coffee shop where he collides with Lily, a searching woman mid-crisis. In a whirlwind conversation, Sammy ends up introducing himself as "Dr. Sam," top dollar therapist. Through a series of comedic (and not so comedic) mishaps, both Sammy and Lily learn from their encounter that they are worthy of the things they want in life. Dr. Sam is for the people who are unsure about continuing to persevere in the pursuit of their dreams. This film exists to say: hold on, and keep going. You’re worth what you want.
