A MATTER OF MINUTES
SHORTS PROGRAM 1: TENSION RELEASE
3Below, San Jose
Sat, Mar 15 11:55 AM
Nine short films exploring those moments that lead to the dam breaking. Some end explosively, and some fall almost silently into chaos and eternity. These films examine tensions in various settings, exploring the build-up and release, with relatable visions of expectation and reality, war and peace.
As featured in The Times, The Daily Mail, and other UK national newspapers... A Matter of Minutes tracks Ava, a 17-year-old girl with a severe nut allergy, who, at a house party, kisses a boy who's just eaten some chocolate cake containing nuts. Amongst the selfish partygoers, we track Ava as she fights against the clock to save herself. Writer Phoebe has suffered from a severe nut allergy her whole life. Drawing from her personal experience, she has written 'A Matter of Minutes', a short drama that explores the high stakes and time pressure of anaphylaxis in one of the worst-case scenarios: a house party, through which, the film explores hedonism, in-group acceptance, and the choices that we do or don't get to make. A Matter of Minutes is the latest project from Academy Award Winning production company Slick Films, in association with The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation.
