Description

After graduating from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1983, Lawrence attended U.S.C law school after which he began his career in the entertainment business as an attorney. In 1989, he left the practice of law to become a personal manager. Over a career that has spanned more than three decades, Lawrence has represented some of the biggest names in Motion Pictures, Television and Stand-up Comedy.

In 1995 Lawrence began his producing career. He has produced over a dozen film/television projects including: “Terrified” starring Heather Graham, “Table For One” starring Rebecca De Mornay, and “Playing Mona Lisa” starring Alicia Witt and Harvey Fierstein. Lawrence also produced his first comedy special “John Pinette: I Say Nay Nay”.

In 2006, Lawrence took some time off from producing to pursue a career as a screenwriter. This resulted in his co-writing the Sony Pictures release Bobby Z (credited under his pseudonym Allen Lawrence) starring the late Paul Walker, Laurence Fishburne and Olivia Wide.

Lawrence resumed his producing career in 2007 with his second comedy special “John Pinette: I’m Starvin!” for Comedy Central. He then produced two films for Sony Pictures: “Zombie Strippers!” starring Jenna Jameson and Robert England and “Insanitarium” starring Jessie Metcalfe and Peter Stormare. Subsequent productions include “Little Girl Lost” for Lifetime Television; “John Pinette: Still Hungry” for Comedy Central and “Dark Hearts” starring Lucas Till.

In 2018, Lawrence Produced and Co-Directed the documentary, “John Pinette: You Go Now” which was chosen as the opening night film at the 2020 Cinequest Film Festival. Most recently, Lawrence Executive Produced “A Place In The Field” for Lionsgate, as well as the upcoming Lionsgate film, “The Duel” starring Dylan Sprouse and Patrick Warburton and “One Fast Move” starring K.J. Apa and Eric Dane for Amazon Films.
