Description

Before Cabbage Patch Kids hit the scene in 1983, no one could have imagined a world where police would need to break up fights in a store. But after Cabbage Patch Kids, every manufacturer in the world needed their own “riot-worthy” toy… and we were never going back.

This is story of how we got here told thru the lens of one of the most beloved toys of the 1980’s. It’s one filled with baby-doll hospitals, cabbage births, counterfeit dolls and U.S. Customs raids, black markets, hundreds of spin-off products, severe product shortages and a rabid media frenzy that gave rise to a BILLION-dollar toy brand unlike the world had ever seen. Oh, and did we mention the four-year legal “custody battle” over the origin of the idea?

This is the story you never knew about the dolls that stole America’s heart… and turned us all into total maniacs.
