“Look at the world’s we’ve created!” Cinequest’s annual animation program brings a full-spectrum display of what is possible in animation in 2022!
Fourteen year-old Louise is a talented dancer in the corps de ballet of the Opera Garnier. Exhausted by the performance, she tells her friend Joséphine that she does not plan on staying for the usual party among the abonnés (subscribers) and the dancers. However, as she sneaks through the crowd of rich admirers, she is stopped by an older ballerina, Rose, who reminds Louise she owes her money, and demands to be reimbursed by the end of the evening. Reluctantly, Louise knows what she needs to do in order to repay her.
