Description

Three teens in Lisbon are on the precipice. With uncertain futures and shadows from their past and present…and not one of them can pretend nothing ever happened.

A neighborhood in the Lisbon suburbs. Rows of buildings, faint lights, no one can sleep. Three teens - Pedro, Maria and Paulo - stand atop a viaduct. It is a windy night, cars speed by underneath. They walk to the ledge. Months before, António closes the door to his house in the country for the last time. He's moving to Lisbon, sacrificing for his family. His son Jorge is numbed by the crisis, Lena (Jorge’s wife) is having an affair with her boss, and his grandson Pedro is barely a stranger to him. Little by little, António and Pedro become closer, while Lena and Jorge grow apart.

But the tragic pact that unites Pedro, Maria, and Paulo makes them unafraid to fall to their deaths, leaving the family in a desperate trail of decay and regret, where no one can pretend that nothing ever happened. Superb storytelling, cinematography, and acting empower this magnificent film.
