These stories take various techniques, from animation to verite, and bring us stories that are thoughtful, powerful, and most importantly, true.
FIRST DOWN is a gripping documentary that profiles an underdog team in America’s first all-girls tackle football league. Coach Crys Sacco explores his gender transition while leading this band of misfits and outcasts to compete for the title, tackling their struggles both on and off the field. They’ve never won a game, but they have a new coaching staff and an abundance of heart. This is a story about girls coming-of-age in a sport reserved for boys.
