Description

“All this happened, more or less.” The documentary form has produced some of the most important films of all time, and this year’s selections are worthy entries. Whether it’s a look at living figures from the Civil Rights era and their fabulous headwear, or the dangerous beauty of a free dive photographer, or even the story of lifeguards trying to make the Hamptons a little safer for swimmers, these shorts are important documents of life, ambitions, moments, and movements.

We’re treated to questions of how we manage our political life, our carbon footprint, our teamwork, and time away from the loves we love. These stories take various techniques, from animation to verite, and bring us stories that are thoughtful, powerful, and most importantly, true.
